Sequoia National Park – Wonders of the World

Home to Earth’s Largest Tree:
In volume of total wood, the giant sequoia stands alone as the largest living tree on Earth. In all the world, the sequoia only grows naturally on the west slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains (elevation 5000 to 7000 ft). The General Sherman is approximately 2,200 years old. It’s largest branch is almost 7 feet in diameter. General Sherman grows enough new wood every year to make a 60 foot tall tree of normal proportions.
The beauty and size of these magnificent trees is breathtaking. This qualifies as one of the “must see to be believed and appreciated” sights in this world.
