One of my favorite holiday flavors is cranberry. Cranberry sauce, cranberry cake, cranberry tea, cranberry chutney… but I had never tried cranberries in one of my favorite breakfasts- a smoothie.
So one day, when I had some extra cranberry juice on hand I experimented blending my favorite tangy fruit into a creamy cool breakfast. The results? You’ll just have to try it and see!
The ingredients here may seem a bit of a funny combination. But trust me- they go together perfectly.
Spiced cranberry almond smoothie
1 banana, frozen
1 tbsp almond butter
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup 100% cranberry juice (or 1/2 cup cranberries)
1/4 cup almond milk
stevia, to taste
1 large handful spinach (optional)
1. Blend all ingredients together, add stevia to taste. Serve topped with some dried cranberries and chopped nuts for chew and crunch!
