Calm between the storms

My life has been crazy, crazy, crazy the last few days. Yesterday I did precisely what my schedule said I would do- except in a MUCH more rushed fashion than I had planned!

Luckily, I found a calm within the storm at Whole Foods, with one of the best dinner dates I have had in a long time.

I finally got to meet the beautiful blogger! When she first announced she was moving to Toronto, the first thing I thought was, We have to eat. I mean, how often is it one of your most inspirational bloggers moves to your city?

After commenting back and forth for quite some time now, it was great to actually meet in person. Over salad bar, of course.

This healthy bowl was heaven to me after a stressful day of running around. Light and energizing.

She is as beautiful, sweet and funny as she comes across on her blog. We had such a great time talking about food [what else?], our boys, our lives it was just like meeting up with an old friend!

After our dinner, she needed some groceries so I decided to follow her lead and shop around a bit myself. Not intending on getting anything aside from road snacks for my trip back to the States, I ended up with a purseful of Kombucha, organic pumpkin, a chocolate bar for my mom and a slew of bulk food goodies- tamari pumpkinseeds, yogurt covered ginger and dark chocolate covered almonds. I was surprised- but thrilled to see her take a sample of the almonds- something I love to do- how else do you know whats good? 😉 So we sampled a few goodies for dessert, and took a nice walk down to the subway station where we said our goodbyes.

It was the perfect way to end my day, and I slept well, even with todays long to-do list looming in the back of my mind.

In other news my parents are coming today! So I will try my best to do a last Behind the Stoves post tomorrow morning, and I will be back again as soon as I am settled in Rhode Island!

and last but not least, Thank you to all who voted for me on Project Food Blog. It means the world to me! We find out today if we advance. Fingers crossed!
