A whirlwind of spinning, pilates, salsa, and body barre broke me. Earlier this week I thought I was just sore and powered through the week. That was maybe a bad idea in hindsight, but live and learn, right? I learned. Now that I have lost all this weight, I am slowly learning more about body awareness and how to respond to cues my body is giving to me. I think it was screaming this week to slow down, and by the time I heard it, I was too late.
So today I am laying in bed with a shoulder pad wrapped around my left shoulder. I think its the rhomboid major. (As opposed to the rhomboid from geometry class:) ) Im watching Parking Wars and pretending it is not an absolutely gorgeous southern California day outside. Boo.
I did make this glass of smooth purple decadence. I cant claim ever dreaming up this concoction, but I think it would make a good reader addition to the green monster movement.
Inside: a cup and a half-ish of almond milk, a big handful of spinach, a splash of maple syrup, a handful of frozen blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, a few frozen cherries, half an avocado, a teaspoon of maca powder, a tablespoon of cocoa powder, and a splash of coconut water. What the?!
The best part was the accident. I am obviously a terrible measurer (definitely a word) and after a bit of blending, it was still a little too chunky and I was all out of almond milk. I dont like adding ice to my smoothies because it always seems to water down the taste too much. But then I saw this in the fridge:
A splash of that was perfect. And the bits on top:
And some cacao nibs.
Yes, please. Slurrrp. Forgetting the ouch for a glorious little while.
